I received a small bouquet of flowers from a friend during the Ginza exhibition. Now, two weeks later, the flowers have wilted quite a bit. I was ready to toss them in the trash this morning when I couldn't help but notice their stark beauty against my window light.

So, I set up a quick "studio" and spent an hour or so trying to capture its weathered, fragile beauty. Hope you like the results. I've included a shot of my "studio" just to give you an idea of how these images were made.


銀座での個展の時に友人からお花をいただきました。初めはかわいくて綺麗なアレンジメントだった花々も２週間経ってすっかり枯れてしまいました。今朝、ごはんを食べながら眺めていて、そろそろ捨てようかなと思っていたところでしたが、窓からの明りに照らされた姿があまりにも美しく、その前に撮影しようと思い立ちました。

簡易的な『スタジオ』を作り、一時間ほどかけて窓から差し込む自然光だけで撮影しました。儚く、繊細な美しさを感じてもらえれば嬉しいです。参考までに最後の一枚に現場風景を入れておきました。
